Puaha Valley Lodge, Little River, New Zealand

Arrive on Banks Peninsula and discover the unique landscape in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

We are situated in the beautiful and sunny Puaha Valley in Little River: only 30 minutes drive to Akaroa and 45 minutes away from Christchurch. Surrounded by native bush, you can enjoy your stay in a spacious and sun flooded room with a king sized bed, ensuite and electric heating. You have private access to a large sundeck where you can enjoy our homemade breakfast in the morning and have a nice view on our beautiful and colourful garden.

Listen to the songs of the Bellbirds, watch the Kereru (New Zealand wood pigeon) having a feast in the plum tree and welcome the little Piwakawaka (Fantails) flittering around. Think about the good things in life while you are swinging in the hammock under the old walnut-tree.

Stroll around the garden, pick raspberries and have some restful moments while the creek is murmuring away. Climb up the hills and enjoy fantastic views down the valley to the sea. Take the chance to go fishing on “Puffin” (a 20 foot wooden motorboat) with your host Bruce or discover one of the stunning walkways this area is famous for.

We pay attention to loving details and like to consider your special wishes to provide a pleasant and happy stay for you. For instance we offer dinner and lunchpackets which can be ordered in advance of your stay. Special food needs can also be accommodated. Let us know when you make your booking enquiry.

We like to make you feel at home away from home.

– your hosts, Trixie and Bruce.
